Bilatreal TAP injections

Hey hope you're all good. My specialist told me my source of pain can't still be in my pelvic area as I've had excision 3 years ago. They think its memory of pain. Pain clinic have given me a bilateral TAP by ultrasound. Numb the area. It helped a lot but not totally. I was getting pains in my left side which wasn't a problem before. I might be wrong but I think the purpose was to 're train my brain' that the pain wasn't there, a kind of re set.

They didn't know how long it would last, maybe week, month, but maybe I'll never feel pain again.

Unfortunately its come back with a bang again. Because I had a little reprieve from it its really draining and I realise how bad it is now. We get used to pain don't we.

Anyway just wondering if anyone has any experience with the treatment they could share.

Thanks x

Endo can and does frequently grow back after excision. Surgeons often really hate admitting that they havent been able to solve the problem. I would go for an MRI elsewhere, my guess is it has grown back but your surgeon is loath to admit this. A friend of mine paid 24000 for an excision op with the UK's top endo surgeon and her endo had grown back completely within six months. It depends what type of endo you have. Memory of pain is a real thing but it is also a handy get out. Personally I would get a second opinion and I wouldn't trust a doctor who tells you your pain can't be caused by more endo just because you had excision.

Endo can grow back. It’s not uncommon. I have a friend who is 35 and she’s had around 7 surgeries because her endo kept coming back. Her last one was a hysterectomy. Hopefully that sorts it for her, but yeah, just cause you’ve had surgery doesn’t mean it can’t come back :( sorry! I would get a second opinion if I were you x

A second opinion is near impossible. GP said I need to go private, I really can't as I'm on zero pay atm due to long term sick . Thanks for your reply

Push for a referral to a specialist endo clinic. NHS are really constricted atm and so many women are being ignored and gaslit. If you’re not getting better they have obviously missed something. Endo never really seems to go away completely for some women. Even women who had a hysterectomy can still get endo: I don’t understand the lack of knowledge from your care providers. It’s shocking. If I were you I’d push for referral to speak to a bsge endo specialist xx
