Post Hysterectomy

Hi all, I am 10 weeks post full hysterectomy. I feel I am doing well physically and have followed all advice. However, on Saturday some familiar pain started and I am now in bed with a severe flare up. I don't know where to turn or if this is normal?! Since my op I haven't really spent days in bed, I've tried my best to keep mobile and moving to help both my physical and mental health and I feel this has brought me crashing down 👎

Hi Cardiff87 I am following your story as I am due full Hysterectomy next wk. Im sorry to hear you have a flare up and have no experience to give you advice, but maybe if you need to rest that's the best thing to do and seek advice from your specialist/G.P re pain relief as that needs addressing. Good luck I hope the pain eases soon.

I am so sorry for you. It must be so difficult after being through such a big operation. I'm not surprised you've come crashing down. Did you have endometriosis removed at the same time as the hysterectomy?

I've had multiple surgeries including full hysterectomy and oopherectomy and also a lot of excision of endometriosis from various organs. My hysterectomy was actually 19 years ago but I still have problems with endometriosis. With my last operation, symptoms returned after only 8 weeks. I've not had any surgery for years as my consultant and I agreed not to do any more except in case of emergency.

I am not alone in having problems with post hysterectomy endometriosis. I live with it but I hope you don't have to. I hope you have a good GP to speak to about this and get advice.

Sending very best wishes and hoping this is for you a post surgical pain. xx
