repeat surgery?

hello! Just wondering if anyone has had repeat surgery to treat their endo? I had my first one in 2021 and then started IVF so pregnancy stopped my periods and I was pain free for 9 months. Recently the pain is creeping back in and I’m not sure if another laparoscopy could be on the cards? I’m not sure if this is something that would be suggested? I’m going back to my GP to hopefully discuss this, I’ve tried different pain relief previously with none really working too well for me. If anyone has had repeat surgeries I’d love to hear if it helped?

Hi ☺️ I've had 3 laparoscopys and been on the depo injection for 10 years to help manage symptoms. Definitely worth asking for as even if short term I've found that having a few months with reduced symptoms after the laparoscopy/surgery is a win although I'm not sure if there is a limit to how many they will do as I'm waiting for re- referral to see if a 4th is doable. Hope you get a solution x

I'm in similar boat, had surgery in 21 but pain returned in Feb 23. Just had MRI privately and endo is back but not big enough for consultant to want to operate again. I am on codeine, Ibuprofen and paracetamol and trying to reduce my hours at work because after 6 months of being in pain everyday the fatigue is so bad I'm barely able to do my job. Consultant has referred me for pelvic floor physio instead to hopefully help me long term to avoid the need for multiple operations. I was expecting to need another op straight away so was surprised when she recommended physio.

I have had two and am in very bad pain again now but have been told I am so scarred inside form the surgeries they can't do anymore (i think the first surgeon was a non endo specialist) but practically everyone has more than one surgery my sister has had six and I met women in hospital who had had more than ten ops. But every op causes scarring and adhesions so you need to be very careful as after some time they can do more harm than good.It seems to grow back for most people. IVF can make endo grow really fast.
