Experiences on the coil?

Hi all,

I had the coil placed during my Laparoscopy at the end of May. During June I pretty much spotted all through, dark blood and fresh bloody from the bottom. July was the same but started bleeding more fresh blood. Was still only when I wiped, August seems to have gone I to full bleeding, period pains. Sharp pains in vagina (come and go thankfully). Is this just a settling in time for the coil?

What's everyone's experience like with it. Was really hopeful that this would be for me as I have been on so many pills, Zoladex injections previously so this was one of the last one to try.

Hi, I’m sorry things are not going smoothly since surgery and coil fitting.

Some of the bleeding would be from surgery I would imagine and lots of people do report a really bad period after surgery. I bled lightly for a good few weeks after surgery and had a horrid first period despite having a uterine ablation too.

However if you think it is the coil it would be worth getting the placement of it checked as if it’s moved it can cause discomfort.

For some people the coil really works and others not.
