Could an erosion on the cervix be connected to endo?

Does endometriosis pain feel like a deep burning sensation, like your insides are literally on fire? (Not on it or in my lady parts) haha 😂 just making that a little clearer, I meant deep in pelvis, abdomen & near organs!! do have adhesions from previous surgeries and I’ve always put it down to that but now I’m not so sure. Also I’ve just remembered that I was diagnosed with an erosion on my cervix many years ago (seventeen ish) which had to be cauterised could this have been signs of endo back then, or is that two completely separate things? x

Ive had an erosion for years and i also have endo- the two arent linked. Endo is created by ‘ dysfunctional immune system’ not your lady parts shall we say’ - read ‘ heal endo by katie edmonds its a game Changer and opened my eyes to what exactly endo is and why you get it

Thank you, I’ll have a look. The trouble is there’s not enough fully detailed information readily available (not that I’ve found anyway) only basic, I’m mentally going back through my medical history in an attempt to create a timeline of ‘possible’ symptom’s… it’s so confusing x

if your concerned about endo ask to see a specialist, the best way to know is through an mri scan ( without surgery)

Symptoms vary from woman to woman so best to chat to someone

I’ve had scans transvaginal, abdominal and mri which only picked up an ovarian cyst although I’m riddled with adhesions. I may have to ask for a laparoscopy to determine once and for all if it’s the adhesions causing all the problems or if I do actually have endo…. I was diagnosed with adenomyosis twice by two different specialists via ultrasound then when I had my hysterectomy the pathology came back clear. What’s bothering me is this burning sensation inside me, severe bloating!! At times I look heavily pregnant, sex is painful, I have bowel and bladder issues and horrendous back and leg pain. I just hate not knowing what I’m dealing with…. x

hi, I suffers from erosion of the cervix and was treated with silver nitrate 2-3 times about 10 years before I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. The erosion was discovered due to bleeding with sex. I’m not sure there is a formal link but i did speak to an Endo specialist at Liverpools women’s hospital a few years ago before my last Laparoscopy and he said they probably misdiagnosed at the time. I also suffered with recurrent thrush between my early twenties and late thirties and I am certain there is a link there too! As you know not enough research time is put into Womens conditions. Hope you find the help you need x

Don't normally come on this site on account of my age but thrush is common with endometriosis. In fact, I sometimes think it is worse. Have that on good authority - I was so desperate with thrush that I went to the special clinic and they confirmed endometriosis as a cause.

If you have a cervical erosion, it needs to be cauterised which used to be the normal procedure as it can be precancerous, the same as cervical polyps. Both are common with endometriosis. I'm afraid I don't know why but I assume all the bleeding and discharge common with endometriosis causes irritation to the cervix. It can't be anything to do with the pap virus which causes cervical cancer, because I'm afraid the endometriosis virtually turned me into a nun.

yes that doesn’t surprise me. I found that changing my diet and taking Optibac stops me from continuing to get it x

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK5... smiled when you said there's not enough detailed information out there. Get your medical dictionary ready!

I hope I've copied and pasted the right thing or you're about to get a weather map of Scotland 😆

I'll post it and then check the link is right.

I think it is all connected to Endo because our immune system is not right. I had erosion once and abnormal cells in smear test many times. I have Endo grown in vagina and it gives me burning sensation sometimes 💛
