I’m just reaching out to see if this is normal with pregnancy and endometriosis? Or should I be worried? Sorry this is my first time falling pregnant but I hope someone can give me some advice☺️ the pains come and go but when they hit they’re so bad

pregnant and endo pain
Hi
Congratulations 🙂
If you’re worried I’d get advice from 111, they’ll know if you need a check up.
Firstly, congratulations!
I’m 12 weeks and had endo excised in a laparoscopy 2 years ago. From about weeks 5-7 of pregnancy, I experienced really bad period-like cramps. They got so bad at one point that I was sent to A&E to check it wasn’t an ectopic pregnancy (fortunately it wasn’t). They seemed to think that scar tissue could cause cramping as everything starts to stretch and grow in there, so you may be experiencing something similar. Always worth getting it checked if you’re worried though and definitely go straight to hospital if you get any bleeding.
I hope it calms down soon and the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly!
How many weeks pregnant are you? I’m 34 weeks now. When I first fell pregnant I was convinced I wasn’t because the cramps were so bad, they continued for a few weeks after I found out and then sporadically came back through out the pregnancy. I wondered if the laparoscopy scars etc were making everything more sensitive because obviously your uterus etc grows a lot! I had the lap in June and fell pregnant in October. Anyway I spoke to a midwife and she said just get lots of rest and let your body do what it needs to do. I had no bleeding so she wasn’t worried. When I say that I’ve had pains in my pregnancy people always look at me blankly as if it’s really bizarre, but actually it’s quite normal.
I would follow your gut as it’s difficult for other people to assess the level of pain - especially when with endo you’re so used to being in pain it becomes difficult to describe. If you’re worried see a doctor, but hopefully it reassures you that I’ve had lots of pain throughout and the baby has been absolutely fine. It may not even be connected to the endo as every pregnancy is different and you might just be more prone to it. If you’re bleeding with it that’s a different story though and definitely needs checking. Xx
there’s no bleeding so far which is good hopefully stays that way! And yes I thought maybe due to my operation that’s why it hurts a bit more, and I’m only 3 weeks (well 4 as the app and everything else says as that was when I last had my period) so it’s very early but I thought I was coming on my period and I didn’t expect cramps to be a sign of pregnancy! I did call my doctors and they said if I have painful periods it’s more than likely the reason this is painful, i went and got vitamins as well so hopefully it all calms down soon! Just now the long wait to get a scan to make sure everything is okay🤍 Thankyou for replying 🤍
hi I had this too! The cramps were so bad I went to hospital to be checked as we were all very concerned. Everything was fine. I spoke to my endo consultant and they said that as long as i had no bleeding then it’s all “normal” cramping.
I hope it goes away for you soon. Mine slowly subsided after several weeks.
oh Thankyou so much! They have gone down a little now tbh deffo not as request I’ll just get the random pains here and there! Thankyou 🤍
Hi, just checking to see if you're hopefully having a smooth pregnancy with no issues after that! I'm in the exact same position as you were with cramping at just 2-3 weeks, worried out my mind that something is going to go wrong
