First specialist appointment

anonymousunicorn profile image

Hey hey, hope everyone is doing ok.

Can anyone advise what info is best to take to a first appointment with a specialist?

I have tracked my symptoms for years so have all that, and was diagnosed with endo via diagnostic lap last year.

Trying to predict what kind of things will be discussed as I tend to go quiet and don’t have anyone to take with me to fight my corner.

I know these appointments are few and far between so want to make sure I can get the most out of my tiny bit of time with someone who will hopefully be able to help me!

I would say write a list and prioritise what is causing you the most issues. I also take notes in appointments too.

Make sure you have a list of everything you've tried so far / procedures and dates - I've found myself bombarded with specialists telling me that I should either try something I've already had (eg the coil or ablation) or insisting that I've not had it before. Best of luck and I hope it goes well.

what would you want for someone to say on your behalf …. then say it or pass them a list of questions if you get overwhelmed.

You get a video consultation with a specialist in India.
