CT contrast scan

OKSo I had a CT contrast scan today, the consultant said it was needed to see what else is going on around the Endometrioma cyst on my right ovary. I'm now confused and concerned as they done the scan of my chest and my pelvis.

Why did they do my chest? What are they looking for there, the problem is in my pelvis. I'm very concerned now that they are looking for the spread of suspected ovarian cancer.

Any input would be appreciated.

Try not to be stressed out by this. My first scan was the same and they just wanted a picture of everything to see the extent of the endo, which can spread anywhere.

Thanks for this. Its really difficult when I've had test after test after test in the last few weeks and no-one medical has spoken thoroughly to me about everything, I'm just guessing and questioning all the time.MDT tomorrow, hopefully I will know then what they think 🤔

It's so annoying when they don't tell you wants going on, I've had the same. I hope you get all the support/ answers soon.

😅 well, really, you should definitely be thanking them! It's the first time I hear specialists anticipating things!!! Endo can go onto your lungs, diaphragm, thorax, intestins, appendix on top of your pelvic regions (+ ureter). I'm so glad to hear of specialists who seem to be professionals. Usually, those who have cysts have a more advanced stage of endometriosis (but it depends from one person to another). How old are you?

I'm 46. In the last 6 weeks I've had 2 uterine biopsies, loads of blood tests Inc CA125 and CA19-9 amongst others, 2 ultrasound scans and 2 transvaginal scans, a hysteroscopy in which a growth was removed and now a chest and pelvic CT. I am grateful for all that they are doing but my cyst has solid components, it's not a confirmed endometrioma yet, they are not sure if it's cancer or an endometrioma and one of my biopsies has come back inconclusive so I'm a little terrified now

And the suspected endometrioma is 6cm

OK, if it's cancer or not, don't forget the curcumine, noni juice, bentonite clay (detox your intestins) and if cancer in addition injections in Germany (natural plants done by professional nutritherapists) that can save your life sometimes (also methylene blue). Let me know about the outcome!💓

Update....my MDT was this morning. I had a phonecall from hospital earlier, they couldn't tell me anything medical unfortunately as they are admin and just there to make appointments. I'm booked in to see consultant on 1st June to discuss all my test results, MDT outcome and plan.9 more days of waiting then hopefully I can work at putting it all behind me and moving on

I'm hoping for the best outcome for you. 9 days is a long time to wait and worry. Have you got plenty of support? Xx

Hi. Thanks for your comment.9 days is a long time, but at least I can concentrate on knowing that they will be actually talking me through everything then, good or bad. Just having someone give me answers and imput and hopefully a treatment plan will be a positive, as they have not been forthcoming with any info really over the last several weeks.

My husband will be there with me and I have support in friends, I don't have much in the way of family to lean on, thank you for asking.

Xx

Yeah, the lack of plan right now right now must be quite difficult!. The fact that they are not immediately getting you in for treatment, might be good in terms of diagnosis. Xx

Also they will look at the chest and pelvis for metastasis if there is a possibility of cancer. I say possibility because they have to be precautious. We also know that endometriosis behaves like cancer, so they need to be able to distinguish them apart.
