Hello, everyone I'm 39 years old, I had a surgery 17 days before, I removed an endometriosis mass with fibroid and one ovary. Yesterday I received the biopsy results, it shows a tumor carcinoma high stage, they need to complete the test by immunochemistry test, and I'll get the results after 15 days. The doctor sends me to do chemotherapy, but I don't want its side effects, I want to live the rest of my life healthy without help or pity, and I'm already alone anyway 🤭😥. Do you think I'm doing the right thing?

Oh I’m sorry to hear your bad news. You must listen to the experts. Chemo could give you a long happy healthy life. You need some good support around you and take things step by step. I’m sure chemo will be extremely gruelling but it’s to get you healthy again. I’m sure before you start any treatment they will talk you through things and offer support and discuss all your worries.
Sending a big hug and best of luck x
This is a big piece of news to take in, it must be overwhelming. I completely understand your reluctance to be sicker but I really recommend you go check out the ovarian cancer chat here on health unlocked and listen to the people who have been through this, ask them questions and get armed with information before seeing your specialist.
I'm sure that there are options and to reassure you not all chemotherapy has horrendous side affects.
oh goodness I’m very sorry for your results. Being alone at 39 does not mean you will always be alone. Chemo can these days be given in many different ways and I would listen to your consultants. There are lots of help groups for people going through cancer treatment and that may not have the best support around them. You are never alone. X
