Hi all. I'm looking for some reassurance I think if nothing else. I've been fighting for a diagnosis of endometriosis for 10 years. I now have a diagnosis of adenomyosis and my left ovary is attacked to my womb by an adhesion which they've said is endo but can't give full diagnosis until laproscopy. I have my laproscopy booked now but honestly so scared of what they are going to find in there. I know it's unusual to see endometriosis on an ultrasound which is making me think its bad in there, I have a lot of pain when I go to the toilet so I'm thinking maybe it's also on my bowel, and I'm petrified of what they are going to be doing while I'm under GA, like will I lose the ovary or part of my bowel! Sorry I know this sounds really dramatic but my anxiety over it all is insane. I went from being told it would be a year plus wait for surgery to the surgeon demanding it to be booked in within 2 weeks of meeting him and it's shook me up a little.
Anyway sorry for the rant haha if you got this far thanks for reading!

I had my first op/lap on 07.03.23 & the surgeon explained what he would do a week before surgery & also on the morning of the op. You get to ask all the questions you want.
He removed my right tube, a 10cm cyst & extensive endo from my ovaries & pelvic area. I also have a significant plaque at the back of my uterus which he didn’t remove as that was in a difficult position to reach. They would have also required a multi disciplinary meeting & team involved. Plus they would have needed to counsel me to prepare me for any complications that arose.
I will require surgery in the future to remove this, especially if it causes problems.
Please try not to worry too much. You are in the best hands. The nurses and doctors are all amazing. I also made friends with a few other patients and we talked about our procedures & life in general which was cathartic. 😌
