hello, I’ve been told to get the Zoladex injection. However I’m really scared as a girl in their 20s to be putting my body into menopause and there’s a chance of no periods returning.
Has anyone taken this and can share some info? Thanks xxx

hi, in 25 and have endo about 2 yrs ago when covid was bad and everywhere stood still I was suffering waiting for surgery so my specialist put me on them a lil bit stingy when they give you them but then it. I personally didn’t have any other side affects than it messed with my personality dissoder but I’ve spoke to a lot of women that it didn’t happen to as everyone it different I was going through mesopause for about 3 months and I chose to stop as I got a date for surgery and about a month or so later everything went back to normal👍🏼 Just ask a lot of question with your doctor/ surgeon and make sure your sure before going into and not just doing it because they want you to as it is hard sometimes to be gaslighted into things. Best luck and I’m always here if you have any concerns🫶🏼
I have been taking this on and off and I can tell you that your periods do return in my experience. It isn’t much reassurance but it’s something. The benefit of the injection giving your body chance to rest from your cycle can be positive. X
You could ask your doctor if you could try the progesterone only pill instead. That should stop your periods without such bad sideeffects but I guess it depends how bad your endo is,I assume it's your gynae who has suggested this. Maybe ask some more questions and whether the POP pill could be an option instead.
Hi Stanleigh, I am now on my second round of Zoladex, my first when I was in my 30s and periods came back as normal just like before. Very little side effects, no problems at all and its so nice taking a break from pain and periods for a while.
Hi, I am now on my second round of zoladex awaiting total hysterectomy.
I had my first round for 6 months about 5 years ago, it helped so much with my endo symptoms and allowed me to live my normal life. I went in to have a healthy baby boy about 18 months after stopping the injections.
Wishing you all the with whatever decision you make x
