Well i had my zoladex injection yesterday and although i wouldnt say it was painless it didnt hurt much.

Ive started tibolone today. Am still really worried about weight gain as i have now discovered that tibolone is a steroid.

Hopefully there will be lots of people that have taken both and not gained weight....

Hi I have been on zoladex and tibolone for just over 3 months and I have gained 9lbs since I started it. I have maintained the same weight for 3 weeks so hopefully i don’t gain anymore!! Hope all goes well for you x

Hi, thanks for reply, i guess 9lbs isnt really that much, especially if its making you feel better. Good luck with it all x

Yeah 9lbs isn’t too much of a big deal tbh considering the amount of food I actually eat since being on it! 🙈 hope all goes well for you x

Hello, I had my first injection yesterday too and start the same HRT. I felt really nervous about the whole thing, waking up this morning I will still feel that way. My consultant wants me to try menopause & hrt before having a radical hysterectomy. Re weight, I’ve never been into exercise, so I may try to counteract the side effects with actually trying to some form of workout. How are you feeling about the menopause?

Hi, thanks for reply, i feel nervous too. Its all quite scary isnt it. Everyone seems to have such a different experience. I feel ok about the menopause, ive had children and dont want any more and ill feel glad not to have pain every month. Im more worried about being out of control hormonally. If i start to gain weight i might just stop the tibolone and see how i feel on zoladex only x

Hi,

I was on zoladex and tibolone for 3 month and I gained a stone. But the weight gain isn’t really a big deal if it’s going to give you pain relief x

Thanks for replying..did you still eat and exercise as usual? Im so worried about putting on weight i might not take the tibolone if i start gaining and see how i manage with just zoladex x

My eating habits changed loads. I was constantly hungry. But I never exercised so maybes that has a lot to do with my weight gain haha! I would take your tibolone as it massively helps with the menopause side effects. Hope all goes well with you! xxx
