Hello, im on my second 6 month course taking livial also as add back therapy to counteract some of the menopausal side affects. Life for me when i stopped my first course was unbearably painful. Zoladex has a positive effect for me, and any side affects far outweigh the misery of daily pain. I am able to excercise so keeping my weight under control and generally function a lot better. I know it gets a bit of bad press but zoladex has changed my life for the better! Xx

Hi

I'm two weeks into the injection and starting to notice the pain around my back is getting better, just waiting for rib pain to stop. If this works it'll be the best thing I ever did.

No side effects so far. Good luck. We'll have to keep in touch for progress info

Hi. I was prescribed zoladex with livil as hrt back in april unfortunately it made me ill also depressed with very bad anxiety, bleeding & still in pain. I have severe endometriosis with multiple adhesions so no hysterectomy for me. I'm still off work. Gynaecologist has took me off it. But it CAN work for others so I would suggest try it. Hope it helps :)

Hey, I'm having my fourth implant on the 10th of July. I don't think it has kicked in yet as I still have my bad days and I haven't bled yet (gyn said I would) I'm going to see my normal dr on the same day so will hopefully find some answers. good luck though, hope it works for you :)

Hi, I've been on Zoladex since mid-May so about 6 weeks now, getting my third injection in a couple weeks' time. I was on Provera pills before (they were just beginning to reduce my endo pain) but I bled through which is why I was switched to the Zoladex. The day after I got my first injection I had a heavy period and had really terrible cramps, but since then the bleeding has stopped and my endo pain has improved significantly; I haven't had a 'bad day' (i.e. have to lie down just to get rid of the pain) since I started on Zoladex. Really now the only endo symptom I have is a little bit of mild pain in the evening sometimes.

Unfortunately I have found that on Zoladex I sometimes get periods of nausea/loss of appetite, especially if I drink alcohol.

I was on it for 6mths, after you sort out the menopause symptoms, I took the pill while is was on it and it was the best pain free time of my life. I live in Australia and they don't allow you to take a 2nd dose. I'm now on visanne and it's very close to being as effective as the injections... Without the jabs!

I've just had my second injection, the hot flushes are happening quite regular and noticed my mood dipping quite a lot x

yes, never again, the mood swings that occured from being really happy to crying and feeling so slow, happening within 5 mins for no reason was so hard to cope with. plus hot flushes that i took HRT for.

and the injections themselves where so painful for me i had to get numbing cream and diazepam from the GP!

personal opinion, i would not have them, wish i never had

Ive been on Zoladex for 6 mths. My pain has been 90 % better, I was in a really bad way with daily pain before this. The downside is ive had awful mood swings and severe anxiety at times even thought Im on Livial hrt. Its certainly been a double edged sword for me and on my bad dys I wished id never had it. Its been like swopping physical pain for mental anguish, although the very bad dys are few + far between which is a big improvement. Best of luck to you whatever you decide x

Yes, after horrific period pains, I was given two months of Zoladex, I feel the 2 periods that came after that was not as bad as before, I also found I didn't bloat as much when on it. I actually think it did help a bit :) However, my current gyno wanted me to have a period to undergo all my scans and tests so I had to stop the doses.

My left cyst is too large & I still found the pain hard to cope with & my current gyno preferred to switch me to Prostap.

After 2.5 years of debilitating pain, and bickering between gynae and gastro as to the origin of the pain, I had been referred to pain management. Because, sometimes "we just don't know where pain comes from".

Back in March I demanded my GP refer me back to gynae (my 3rd referral into the service, 3rd hospital as well); here they took me, my suspicions and my pain serious. Although all I wanted when I went in was a full hysterectomy, the specialist asked me to try Zoladex injections first. This to ascertain that the pain was indeed gynae-related. On the 28th July, I will be going for my 3-month review... and I will be able to tell him that I have been living virtually pain-free for the last 3 months. The first month there was still some niggling pain (but I only took painkillers on 5 separate days) and I've had about 2 days of mild pain since then.

Yes, you also need HRT... guess what. For the first time, in 38 years, I've started losing weight. The HRT has balanced my hormones to such an extent, it is even dealing with the hormone imbalances caused by my PCOS. A mere side effect but one I am quite happy with!

The most important thing is: I am no longer in pain! Of course, there are is an early menopause to deal with... but, I'll take the emotional rollercoaster and hot flushes over pain, any day.

I hope you find a solution soon, and, please, discuss treatment with Zoladex with your specialist.

I was on it for 9 months, It took 4-5 months to kick in. I had tibolone as ad back therapy. I felt ok after 7 months however my side effects outweighed the endo pain. I good side was that I didn't have a period for 6 months. I had terrible nausea and was sick most mornings. A lot of hair fell out with it. I was very very dry down there (I was having to put moisturising pellets in). The hot flushes were not great either. I also found the injection very painful and it was uncomfortable for a few days after.

The lap I had after though showed how just how much my endo had cleared up, I was amazed!

After 6 months of being off the zoladex it appears my endo is back though so I am not sure what the next step is.

I would definitely say to give it a go, as everyone is different. xx
