Bleeding after smear test

So I had my smear test yesterday due to HPV cells being found at my previous test. It was so painful and the nurse was so kind and patient, but since the rest I’ve been bleeding quite heavily and just generally feel rubbish/in pain.

Did this happen to anyone else and how long did it last?

Hope your all ok x

I've always bled after smear tests. When I had excision surgery I was told they'd removed a lot from near my cervix, so I wonder if that is related.

Just be kind to yourself. I use pads not tampons for this bleeding to reduce the risk of infection. If it lasts for more than a couple of days get in touch with the GP.
