Hi everyone, i have just started my zoladex injections every 28 days and my tibolone tablets once a day. i have seen there is loads of side effects with this, i was wondering if anyone has experienced any good or bad side effects, just want to be aware of what to expect really. i understand everyones bodies are different and react differently but just wanted some sort of idea. I would be grateful if any one could share their experiences with me would be muchly appreciated.
i am also suffering with extreme fatigue, I know one of the symptoms of endo is fatigue but im really struggling especially the past few months, I feel like its just getting worse. Im struggling to even do day to day activities like cleaning and showering without just feeling like i need to sit down and rest all the time and i just feel so lazy. If anyone has any recommendations on what i can do to feel less tired that would be amazing- thank you

I had zoladex injections for 6 months and started Tibolone not long after starting the zoladex. Before I started the Tibolone I experienced hot flushes, night sweats and ‘brain fog’. These did improve quite significantly once I started the Tibolone though. When I came off zoladex I realised I had put on a bit of weight. Nothing excessive but definitely noticeable.
For me, zoladex and Tibolone was a treatment that worked so well, even though I experienced the typical side effects.
I can’t share anything about fatigue, that’s not a symptom that I experience, but I hope you stay well and your treatment is positive for you x
When you have the first injection there is a flare of oestrogen by your ovaries before they shut down. This can cause increased pain and often a bleed. This phase lasts around 3-4 weeks usually and it's best not to take the tibolone until it has passed and the menopause symptoms kick in. The tibolone is just adding more oestrogenic effects into the mix so is best avoided at first.
I have not tried Zoladex and Tibolone, but I have/had experience with extreme fatigue.
My GP has put me on iron tablets, which has helped a bit, iv also started taking since last September zinc tablets to help with immunity, as was getting cold sores every 2 weeks and that helped a bit more but what helped the most is magnesium. I have been taking it for a month now and feel much, much better.
Still tired but not as bad, a bit closers to my old self, I can actually start seeing myself again
thank you so much for sharing this with me, i will have to have test these out and see if makes any difference. I have seen a lot recently about people taking magnesium and it's really helped them so will definitely look into this. Where do you get the magnesium from and when do you take it please
I’ve just finished 6 months of zoladex and livial. I’d say the side effects for me were mainly joint pain and tiredness. I’ve not had any hot flashes or weight gain but have noticed an increase in facial hair which isn’t the end of the world and I just have it threaded.
I’ve had no endo or adenomyosis pain or symptoms since a month after the first injection so that for me has been great!
Not quite sure what to expect now I’ve had my last injection and will the menopause reverse or will my body just stay this way?
Hope it works well for you. I must admit I was really nervous about having this treatment as you only ever really hear the negative reviews but for me it’s been good 😊 x
I’m finishing my first 3month injection of zolodex and due my second at the end of this month. I got this while I was in hospital and they started me on Tibolone straight away. I’ve not had any side effects at all and don’t notice any difference with being on them. I’ve always suffered from fatigue and especially just before a flare up, I’ve started taking magnesium tablets to help me sleep better at night and eating really healthy. I’m still suffering from it but definitely not as bad. There are some days though when I just want to go to bed and sleep all day! I hope the injections and Tibolone work well for you too.xx
