Hi everyoneJust wondering if anyone has experienced the same as myself,I've endrometrosis and fibroids, had my last lap 8 years ago,and been in constant pain for over 2 years now,I've had a ct scan done which showed up nothing, last year my renal artery was blocked and had to get a stint in,originally I thought the pain was to do with this, but I know it's the endo growing again,so I'm waiting for an mri scan, does this show up the endo, was told I am on a waiting list for 4vears,im losing the will at the minute, can anyone please advise me if anyone is in a similar situation

Thankyou

Hi Jella,I've not had fibroids but had a nightmare time with my endometriosis.

When is your mri scan? I don't want to worry you but I had my kidney removed a few weeks ago due to endometriosis strangling my ureter and killing kidney. It's been awful. I'd already had my uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries and appendix out along with as much endometriosis as possible over various surgeries.

I think if an gynaecology consultant is looking at mri it depends on their experience whether they can tell its endo. But at least the will be able to see anything being damaged.

It could well be endometriosis causing your pain but as you have a stent in I'd want that checking. Do you know why renal artery was blocked?

I nearly didn't reply because I don't like scaring people with my experience but I also don't want anyone to experience what I have. Please push for help, it's really hard but it seems to be people that create the most noise get help faster.

Have you at least got decent painkillers? I got my gp to give me oramorph in the end. They weren't keen but I said it was the least they could do after fobbing me off and not sending me for scans. I went to A&E a couple of times for pain relief.

Sorry if I'm not much help. I really hope mri goes okay xx

H Betty, thankyou for replying to me,I've been in a&e loads of times in the last 2 yes,and they just sent me home again, they thought it was my appendix a few times but my blood presure was very high,so my gp pushed fir a scan of my renal artery which was blocked, alongside the renal artery being blocked I was in extreme pain, which the renal doctor has assured me that it's not my kidneys.I waited 2 years for a appointment with gyne, who kept saying to Mr that this wasn't a gyne problem but I know myself it is,so I went back to renal & he done a scan whish showed an abstruction in my uterus, yet and all the gyne doc couldn't see anything in my scan, anyway I decided to go private which was a waste of time !as he couldn't see anything either,so I'm hoping the mri scan will show up something,I had a phone call from my gyne consultant about 4 weeks ago& she has ordered me the mri scan, and told me ther was a 4 Yr waiting list for a lap but if the mri scan showed up anything they would do the lap for me, I did ask her if I paid for the mri scan privately would it be faster, she does private as well,so she told me to wait, but I'm thinking it is the endo as its 8 yes from my last op,but I dont know how long I could deal with the pain much longer, and it is affecting my bowel as well,im taking dichroic but it doesn't take that pain away,so I'm looking into natural remedies

So you are in a situation where you want them to find something wrong on mri so things move forward for you? It's a nightmare isn't it.I wish the consultant's would all work together better.

At least your gp pushed for scan, I had high blood pressure and they fobbed me off saying its nothing but since I've had kidney removed it's normal.

So you have a 4 year wait for a gynaecology consultantation and that's not even for a laoaroscopy to investigate?

Maybe if nothing shows on mri, can you see if any hospitals nearby have a shorting waiting list?

A couple of years ago during covid I had an ovary and large cyst removed. (I kept one adter hysterectomy)

I paid for scan privately which made me jump up the list for surgery on the NHS. I had the surgery in private hospital but paid by NHS.

This last surgery for kidney was urgent as was at risk of rupture but still waited a few months for nhs. I nearly cracked and paid for the whole thing privately but was around £10,000!

I do think you need to try various painkillers to see what works best for you.

I hope your mri is very soon xx
