Endometrioma found on left ovary - unable to see the right ovary…

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with endo about 8 years ago and had three successful laps to remove patches and had been symptom free since then taking the pill back to back.

Just before Christmas I experienced intense pain (outside of my period) and ended up in a&e, after some pushing they gave me an ultrasound scan and said they could see an endometrioma on my left ovary but they couldn’t see my right ovary apparently due to trapped bowel gas? They have referred me to a endo specialist but I have been told this will likely be a 40 week wait. I get a lot of bowel related symptoms and I am left worried what could be on my right ovary and could there be another explanation why they couldn’t see my right ovary? They tried for a while. Could it be a sign of anything else? Thanks I’m advance

I think if they couldn’t visualise your ovary if probably was because of the gas obscuring it. I can understand why you are concerned though and want it checked. Could you ask your GP to refer you for another ultrasound to have it checked,

If you are having bowel related symptoms that could very well be due to endo. Again maybe discuss with your GP. They could maybe offer advice or treatment in the meantime, might want to do some other tests and could perhaps pass on the info to gynaecology who are maybe currently viewing you as some one who had an episode of acute pain that has passed.
