Hi everyone,
sorry if this has already been asked but I had a trans abdominal ultrasound today and was told that one of my ovaries is adhered to my uterus and that that is usually a sign of possible endometriosis so advised to go back to my GP about it, has anybody else experienced something similar?
My gynae history is so long it’s boring but I’m summary - dreadful heavy painful periods since age 12, chronic pelvic, flank and back pain, recurrent symptoms of urinary tract infections but urine dips inconclusive. Ectopic pregnancy 2014, fallopian tube removed as it had ruptured, no mention of endometriosis at that time.
Uterine fibroids removed a couple of years ago too but no sign of them now apparently.
Hormonally really struggle with acne still at 31 and hair growth on chin that I have to constantly keep in check.
I’ve read a reasonable amount about endometriosis and I think my symptoms fit the picture but I have had 2 children, conceived relatively easily with my first at age 23 and took around a year with my daughter at 29 which makes me think it might not be.
At the moment I’m considering paying for a diagnostic laparoscopy privately due to nhs wait times but not sure of costs and will not be able to afford to continue privately if I was diagnosed.
I would really appreciate knowing anyone else’s experience of anything similar/costs if they are happy to name what they had to pay for diagnosis etc
Thanks so much in advance xx
