Best contraception to help with endo?

Hi! I had endo and adhesion excision in November and my consultant recommended I go on some form of hormonal contraception to try and limit endo growing back again.

I started the progesterone only pill but I’m really struggling with it - it’s like I have three periods in a month, heavy bleeding and awful pain. When I take nothing my cycle is like clock work so I at least know when to be prepared for bleeding whereas now it’s often and with no pattern. My consultant recommended doubling up the pill but the side effects are awful and I’m still bleeding / having pain, at this point it’s almost the lesser of two evils to have nothing, but I do need a contraceptive as we don’t want any more babies!

Would anyone recommend anything that’s worked for them? I’ve had the coil a couple of time but it caused problems and depo injections are off the table too 🫣

Hi,how long have you been on the pill. I restarted noriday few mths back had 2 28 day cycles and I started bleeding again new year eve at 23 days. I'm going to give it 6 mths as they do say it takes time to settle. Like you off the pill I'm clock work 32 days ish. However I'm stage 4 and there's a decent sized nodule in my POD stuck to bowel and uterus surrounded by scar tissue that I'm frightened will grow and invade the actual bowel. So I'm trying to stick with the pill. There are other brands to try if this doesn't settle I guess or the coil (which I really don't fancy). I'm not sure how they're supposed to help tbh if we are bleeding more frequently 🤷‍♀️

it’s been a couple of months for me, but I’ve been on it before and it was the same. It’s driving me mad, I thought it had stopped this morning but by this evening I’ve got bright red bleeding again and a lot of pain. I might ring the doctors tomorrow and see if I can speak to a GP and try another brand or something.

I hope things settle down for you soon! X
