sleeping post laparoscopy

I had my second lap on the 28th, and I’m recovering well. But am struggling with mid back pain on the left side when sleeping. I can get to sleep fine but I’m waking up in the middle of the night and then can’t get back to sleep. Any advice?

That's great that you are recovering well Luna-24 ! I am not sure what your sleeping arrangements are (i.e. what side of the bed you sleep on) but I am a massive fan of pillows and cushions be it post op or when my symptoms flare up. I build them up where I need additional support (like a nest). I think I have about 12 in my bedroom (various sizes and shapes) and probably about 10 on my sofa. I hope this helps x

hello, a thin pillow between your legs when lying in your side might help. After past open surgeries I am now able to sleep on my back also (this was a necessity at the time) I use a pillow under my knees avoid back pain. Feel better soon!
