Zoladex Injections (2/6)

Hello,Just wanted to share my experience and ask if anyone has had similar.

The gyne has put me on zoladex for diagnostic purposes. At around 3 weeks after my first injection I had a whole week pain free, despite during week 2 being so bad I was using a wheel chair. It was such a relief as I've had such bad pain continously for around a year and I'm on all kinds of pain killers.

I had my second injection yesterday, during the day I was absolutely fine, had my injection at 5 and after about an hour I struggled. I've had a bad day today too with aches, pains and feeling so run down.

Does anyone else have this for the first couple of days after being administered zoladex?

Also since the first one appeared to work after a few weeks, can I potentially expect to be pain free (or at least reduced pain) in the next few days ?

Thank you 💞💞

yes I had the same! I spoke to the endometriosis nurse who told me it takes 2-3 injections before things settle properly which they did, hope it does for you

Amazing thank you so much for some Reassurance! So if you don't mind me asking... did you find that for a few days after the first few injections you were in pain and discomfort from having them? X

yes! And completely knackered, my symptoms also got worse on day 27/28 (which may be around the same time the new injection is given and getting into your system). The doctor assured me its just the injection wearing off and symptoms showing again x

I’m so sad to hear your Endo means you have to use a wheelchair. More needs to be done for us, that’s for sure.

For me, My Specialist Dr explained it’s as the ovaries are switching off with the injection, they have a surge and then switch off. This can highten symptoms. I have been on zolodex with add back HRT Tibilone since Aug 2021. It’s been my experience too.

Just had my 2nd lap and recovering now and still having injections.

I think you have the reassurance you need now? Wishing you all the best!

Thank you so much 💞I'm still currently fighting for a diagnosis, which is why they've put me on zoladex in the hope that if it helps it'll tell them it is a gyne related problem.

That explanation is really helpful! Unfortunately a lot of my experiences so far with medical professionals around this have lacked a lot of explanation. I am also on Tibilone HRT

I mean, they say it can shrink Endo cysts and I believe them. MRI showed Endo in pouch of Douglas but it was gone when I had my lap.

The fighting is exhausting…ugh….I feel for you!
