Just thought I'd update. Had surgery and I have got a patch of deep endometriosis in left side of pelvis near the bowel? The gynae didn't state the exact location but also query have a patch on pouch of Douglas?
I was having right sided pelvic pain but there wasn't any in the right side only left. Has anyone else got pain on the opposite side to their endometriosis. I also had blood in poo twice a month since feb. Anyone had the same?
I will be referred to a specialist and prob need an mri and further surgery. Just hope it doesn't spread. They have given me desogestrel pill? Any opinions on this? Also what stage is deep endometriosis even if it's in one spot?luckily I didn't have any adhesions

This is rectovaginal endo and stage 3 or 4 depending on how involved the POD and ovary is. RV endo is most usually left sided. Presumably it is a specialist endo centre they are referring you to.
Thank you for your reply and helpful info. Will show you what my discharge letter states it's doesn't state where the deep endometriosis is I just remember the consultant saying its near the left bowel area. Do you know if left sided endo and cause pain on the right pelvic area? Also I have no adhesions apparently so would this still be classed as stage 3/4? Will be referred to endometriosis specialist to discuss next steps but the gynae consultant said prob a mri and excision surgery
That's odd as I felt sure I'd read adhesions. So there was only minimal endo in the POD so it won't be stage 4 but deep endo elsewhere will be stage 3 in that it requires expertise to excise it. An MRI will give a better idea but in the meantime I'd get a copy of the lap report. We have a file on the group I run with details of how to apply. I'll dm you the link. X
Pain can be referred from one location to another, for example RV endo often refers pain to the lower back and legs but I don't think it's usual to go to the other side. You may have some endo there that was missed.
Yes I did. I have recieved great info from the comments and really appreciate your help and the help from others from that group. It is very reassuring having guidance from that group and from you. I now know the next steps to take and should know more when I get the post op follow up from consultant. Enjoy your holiday
Hi there! I recently underwent laparoscopic surgery for Endo and I experienced a similar thing. Deep lesions were found and removed from my Sigmoid, lower part of my bowel that was attached to the wall of my ovary. This was found on my left side. But prior to this my main source of pain was on my right side, my surgeon didn’t find anything dodgy on my right side. He found a collapsing cyst a few months back that seemed to have disappeared too. Glad I’m not the only one! Hope you’ve found some resolution! <3
