Is it one side more than the other?

I’ve always been told my sciatica isn’t related but it went away after my lap and during pregnancy. Since my other endo symptoms have returned so has that! It’s like a constant nagging pain right at bottom of the back and down my leg. Always worse during period and ovulation. I know it’s 100% related.

yes I do, although this has eased whilst being on Prostap injections. My gynaecologist said it was definitely Endo related and was due to my Endo being so close to the sciatic nerve

The gynae you saw must be very poor. Sciatic pain is frequently caused by endo on the ligamnets and endo actually growing on the sciatic nerves. If the sciatica comes and goes with your period it is probably that that is causing it. An endo specialist gynae should know this as it is quite common (I had it my gynae told me immediately that could be what was causing the pain, they operated and it was). You need a good surgeon to treat this.

If I were you I would try to find a better gynae. if this person doesn't know as much about endo as a normal endo patient he/she probably can't be very good. Having surgery with a gynae who isn't very good is a very bad idea. I'm so sorry that you have seena gynae who has so little knowledge, try to look up a real endo specialist onlline and get a referral to them instead.

thanks for your reply. mentioned the sciatica first and was told that.So straight waway i felt on the back foot.I I dont think i. got across what immense pain im in.Was asked if inget a dull ache i pelvis i said yes and dragging pains sharp stabbing pains.Asked something else and forgot to say about the immense cramping pains that make me sick.Though i did mention gettting sick later.feel like i shouldnt of mentioned the sciatica first but this is the first symptom that comes on before my menstral cycle.I said how heavy my periods were and the clots aswell. Was tod am not anemic so im not loosing that much and my clots arent big enough as they said they treat people who are loosing fist full of clots.Nothing showed up on my scan.Apart from very gassing and i think small polp that said was normal it just shows im ovulating. And also showed very gassy on ultrasound.Have digestive issues all the timeHad an internal and she said everything was fine.Doesnt think i have endo because of my symtpoms.I just didnt get across how dibilitating the pain is.Was told maybe its just how i am.Dont get me wrong i dont want endo but i really dont think i got across how bad this really is.And dont think mentioning sciatic pain at the start helped me..

I could barely walk my pain was that bad. When they did laparoscopy and excision I was informed my Endometriosis was around my sciatic nerve. The pain was definitely related to the endo not anything else and I'm now like a new person now the endo has been removed.

i havethe same everytime i am on a period.Cant walk properly and that pain mixed with pelvic pain is dibilitating. As soon as i mentioned the sciatic at the start i think it may of ruled out endo for my gyne.Said it was not related atall.Gyne seemed quit

Hi hope you're as well as can be.

Around menstruation literally everything flares up for me. I have been told it can be due to the inflammation caused in which depending where abouts your sciatic nerve is being trapped, of course it can have an affect. Also if in an endo flare how you're sitting could also cause some irratation to the nerve.

thank you for your kindness.I was very suprised in the appointment actually and wish i hadnt of mentioned it now..but you can only tell the truth.I have heard now many woman do get this and have to have surgery for it on there sciatic nerve. It kind of threw me when it was compketely dismissed as having anything to do with endo...thank you for your kind

I also have chronic Pancreatitis which also flares worst around menstruation (also dismissed by a male consultant). However many other women seem to all have that issue too. The problem is they're just isn't enough research/funding into the links for womens health.

You are right to enquire about symptoms you are experiencing and it's not ok to just cope with extreme pain. Don't give up! You have coped so well for so long I hope you get some help.

such a shame that gyne can say and think differently regarding endo. When so many women on here obviously recognise sciatic symptoms with endo.
