Hi everyone, hope you're all well.
I was just wondering if anyone else has been told that their operation has been "expidited"?
I was initially referred for a laparoscopy in June by an endometriosis specialist and was told the waiting list was 26-52 weeks due to covid.
Unfortunately, shortly after that appointment, I ended up being in and out of hospital all summer due to my pain. Then after being admitted to in-patient wards twice during July and August, gynecology told me that they would expidite and bring forward my laparoscopy. They said this meant they put me on their "expidited list".
However, no matter who I contact at the hospital or the endometriosis clinic, nobody seems to be able to give me a timeline or explain what that means in comparison to the regular surgery waiting list.
I'm just feeling a bit stuck in limbo and I'm quite confused. It would be nice to know for sure whether it's happening this year or in 2023!
Has anyone else has this happen to them or have any info on their own surgical waiting times?
PS: I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share personal information but I'm from Scotland if anyone else is too? I know our NHS is totally separate from the rest of the UK so will have different procedures and waiting lists.
