Heya, I’m sorry that you are having trouble conceiving, it can become very stressful when it is something that you want so badly. It took me 1.5 years to conceive my 4 year old daughter, before I knew I had endometriosis. After trying to conceive a sibling and having no success following surgery for endo, I have gone down the IVF route. Perhaps go back to your GP and then they can refer you to a fertility clinic. Some people have unexplained fertility issues but having endo and adenomyosis like myself can make it more difficult to conceive. Wishing you all the best xx

It was a classic case of giving up trying and then it just happening. But I didn’t do anything differently lifestyle wise x

Hi I tried for 5 yrs to get pregnant naturally. In that time I was diagnosed with endometriosis very badly. I had it all removed in 2020 and they took one of my tubes, tried for 5months after surgery still did not get pregnant. Went to gp and got referral to IVF clinic. Was very fortunate 1st round got pregnant, we only had one good embryo and little one was born 6wks ago. It can happen. I know how hard it is to be trying but it is possible. Don’t give up but be gentle with yourself 💕

Hi mew,My wife has the exact same problem as you. We have tried some IVF without success so far, and I'm currently taking care of her because she is going through those hard days. She had some surgery and removed the adherences (she had a lot), but we didn't have luck with a baby so far and she still feels a considerable pain during her period. That's the journey state, I really wish you the best of luck, take it easy with you if going through an IVF.

Hi Sorry to hear you are struggling to conceive, it’s horrible and all consuming. My hubby and I were trying for almost 3 years in that time I had 2 laparoscopy’s for me to diagnose endo and 1 to treat! Up until the 2nd lap my ovulation was always normal to high then about 3 months later I had another test and they had dropped considerably. My gyne put me on a course of medication to stimulate the Ovaries, it’s was chlopromide (I think) after 1 month I fell pregnant with my daughter. This was 18 years ago so things may have changed but please don’t give up hope. 3 years later and I conceived my son naturally. Xx

Hey loveSorry to hear this.

I will check that Adenomyosis thing if I were you.

It’s nothing for sure but some research says it causes miscarriage if not preventing a pregnancy at first place.

I don’t know how old you are or how big is your adeno but if it is a 100% diagnosis pls go and see surgeons who are top notch doing adenomyomdctomy and get consultation.

The sooner removing it the better as the uterus healing takes long after you do that.

With adeno even you can get pregnant it might cause lots of pain and/or miscarriage 🫤😢

I know how that thing in posterior position feels during my periods lots of backache I had.

There arent that many doctors who do this surgery and they should be very skilled as this is pretty much a new surgery and even until now so many doctors believe in doing hysterectomy if adeno exists. I hope you find one.

At the very least doc may put you on gnrh drugs for long to make it smaller if possible but before that you can do ivf and make some good frosties while still younger.

So you want a baby pls dont wait furthur go do sth abt it.

I had adeno size of 4/5 month preg belly recently removed with endo fibroids all you name it I had in my belly specially after 5 ivfs they all got worst. I am on gnrh injections waiting for it to be over and continue on my journey of being a mom hopefully soon with our frozen embies which are not many just a few. Doctors wasted so much of my precious time by not diagnosis of Adeno until 2019 even after that not referring me to the right durgeon and then covid came etc.

So it wasnt after I went abroad to get this surgery plus several others all in one operation.

My story doesnt have to be yours

I tried to be brief you get my point you need to have plans and make actions if you really want that beautiful baby of yours to sit on your lap soon. Dont sit and wait for that to happen its almost a year if there is no male inferty involve it might be the adeno playing evil in here.

Wish you good luck n Take care

Hi thank you for your reply, I know time not on our side, but my doctor said there is no cure for adenomyosis and all he said it was back of my womb all of it. I can't get ivf treatment as it's costing alot of money so natural my option:/

I change my doctor if he/she knows about Adenomyosis and do not do anything about it. At the ver least they should put you on gnrh drugs for sometime and then check if it shrinks.

I know there are many doctors still out there saying there is no cure including both of mine, my RE and my surgeon. But I am a live proof and there are so many evidences online.

Search Adenomyomectomy and they come up. It’s the name of this operation of removing adeno and reconstruction of uterus. It’s been there about 10 yrs pretty much new in surgery world, but its there.

I agree with your doctor as not every single surgeon can do this. It’s very delicate and needs a skillful surgeon.

My Adenomyoma was in the back as well and got so large to the point it got everywhere.

If you have a focal adeno - as they call it when its only in one location its even easier to remove. When it gets to the all of uterus its called diffuse.

I read some people getting pregnant with Adenomyosis but the diagnosis itself has to be certain. Not sure if any one of them having a safe delivery had adeno for certain or what kind. Apparently maintaining of the pregnancy to the term is a big challange with adeno. My RE was saying even if I get pregnant ( which we didnt in 5 yrs without male problem) there will be a disastrous miscarriage in month 4-5 when uterus wants to make room for baby getting bigger.

Also with cases like us having endometriosis there is always big chance it comes back after surgery so you need to act fast for getting pregnant or go on gnrh drugs to prevent they coming back and help shrinking adeno. But while you are on gnrh ( if you know) mostly you won’t have ovulation so you have to wait for it to do its job if it does.

Think about it do your research and change your doctor if you need to. I know its not easy and I know how things go with government health systems when it comes to changing or finding a new doctor but its worth it.

I am just here to tell you there are ways but you need to be proactive.

For me I have regrets I didnt do this sooner as I spent much energy money and time on ivf cycles and/or waiting for that to happen naturally without removing endo and adeno first.

There is another option of having a surrogate but if ivf is out of question then you can’t think of surrogate. It’s expensive and lots of another world material challenges will be added on top of infertility itself.

I don’t wanna be a devil’s advocate or break your heart by saying these things just making you aware of things you may not know before and can help you explore your options

I pray for you

Hugs

Hey,

Yup I'm in the same boat as you. Been trying for a year after endo surgery and told I had adeno when they looked in there too. I also have thoracic endo and am currently on lung collapse number 11! My lung surgery hasn't worked so I'm on the pop for a few months to give my lung surgery more time to work. I'm the only one out of my mates without a baby now and its so isolating.

We're on the list for IVF now so I'm hoping my lung is sorted by the time they're ready to start it. I just hope the adeno doesn't play a part in the embryo taking but who know if I'll be able to get pregnant at all.

I really feel for you, it's so disappointing every month you get a period, especially when they are so painful with endo.

Have you considered IVF?
