I have my gynecology appointment in a few month but I have no idea what to expect. The doctor said something about a camera but I can't remember fully and the NHS letter simply gave me instructions about how to book my appointment, not what will happen in it.
I'm assuming it won't be a laparoscopy as surely they would have to give me more info regarding this? Maybe I'll get more info closer to the appointment. Anyone else got experience with NHS gynecology appointment for endo?

Hi there. So I've had 2 'first appointments' with gynaecology. I was sent a letter saying I'd get an ultrasound. I did not get an ultrasound on either. I was asked a million questions the first time. I was told it sounds like endo. It's 99% endo. But because I was 18 they wouldn't do an ultrasound because it could damage my chances of fertility. (Complete nonsense). This time last year I was told it was too complicated a case. I was told I had vaginismus from abuse and I'd be referred for psychotherapy with a sex therapist and then the gynaecologist put her finger in my vagina with my permission of course. She said she'd book me an ultrasound and a laporoscopy. So that was the first appointments. 12 years apart.
I'm sorry they messed you about. It sounds like 2nd appointment was a lot more successful. Hopefully being 24 I will be taken more seriously (not that it would be that way), but I don't have a tonne of faith.
Hearing these stories helps, I feel a lot more equip to go in there and tell them what I need knowing what has helped others, so thank you for sharing.
