My doctor suspects that I'm suffering from endo and has referred me to gynae and for an ultrasound. The waiting list for Gynae is 1 year and I've been put on the pill in the meantime. The pain is really bad and is relentless. Painkillers don't really do very much but. A hot water bottle does ease things to a certain degree but isn't ideal in the heat that we're experiencing at the moment! Any advice would be welcomed!

You don’t say what painkillers you’re on but if they’re not working please go back to the GP and ask for something else, There is quite a wide range, and different types and strengths, Tell them exactly how the pain is affecting you. Probably not for this weather, but a heat pad might be better than a hot water bottle and they’re not that expensive online. Hot water bottles can damage your skin if you use them too long/ too hot. I’ve never tried an ice pack, but it works for other types of pain so if it’s very hot where you are might be worth a try?
I have found a Tens machine quite helpful and they can be wearable too, There is a range online, and the expensive ones in my view are no better than the cheaper ones.
Some people find dietary changes help, have a look in old posts here. Personally only avoiding red meat has made any difference to me.
A standard ultrasound may not show anything even if you have endo so don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t. Hope your wait for Gynae is not too long.
