I had my 2nd hospital appt this week, where they confirmed I have endo. My left ovary is stuck to my womb & I have some endo inside my womb from what they can see in the internal scan. After just finding this out she asked me to pick if I wanted the coil to help symptoms or a Laparoscopy. She said the Laparoscopy was best if I wanted children in the next 2 years. I refused to decide there & then as it felt like a big decision after just finding this out. I also don't know when I'll be wanting children. I think I will be getting a 2nd opinion, but I just feel a bit shell shocked I was supposed to make this decision right away? Has anyone else experienced this? Just feel confused as this is all so new! Would appreciate hearing anyone elses experience. Thank you

Hi BlueLabrador2702
Being diagnosed with endometriosis - even if you suspect this - is still a big shock in itself, let alone trying to consider possible treatment paths in the same appointment, so we're not surprised you're a bit shell shocked!
Take some time to read about both options and go back to the consultant if you have further questions. If you don't feel fully supported by the consultant you saw initially, please ask for a referral or a second opinion.
We have a really comprehensive document on our website about treatment options that you may want to read - you can download this from endometriosis-uk.org/endome... - scroll down the page and you'll see a link to 'Endometriosis Treatment Information Pack'
In addition to this, you can also find out more information about a Laparoscopy and what it entails here: endometriosis-uk.org/your-l...
Wishing you all the best x
Hi BluLabrador, that's awful and completely unjust. No-one should pressure you into a decision. It's your body, your rules. Definitely get a second opinion. Unfortunately, not all medical practitioners practice patient care! You're allowed to make an informed decision
