How long before a double dose of the pill works?

Hi, I’ve been on the mini pill since December and bled constantly throughout. I can’t take the combined pill so my Gynae has put me on a double dose of the mini pill (cerelle). I’ve been on that double dose for a week. I’m still bleeding.

How long does it take to kick in if it is going to at all?

I am sorry to hear what you are experiencing. I am afraid I don't have any experience with this myself but hopefully some others who do will be able to share their experiences with you. As we know everyone does respond to hormone treatments differently so I would go back to your Gynae to get their advice if you are able to.

I experienced this exact same thing with the mini pill so you are not alone at all! I found this extremely frustrating and upsetting that no one seemed to have the same issues that I had and I too bled constantly on that pill. I never had a double dosage though. I found the injection and mirena helped with the constant bleeding but took me a long time to get there x

Hey, I took the double dose for ten days, made me feel terrible so I’ve ditched it. Apparently the constant bleeding thing isn’t that uncommon. I’m thinking about the merina coil next. Xx
