Hi, I had my laparoscopy the first week of May and then spotting for several days. This then became quite heavy and was almost like a period and included big clots (sorry too much info!). I was concerned about this and did call the secretary who said she would ask the consultant to return my call but he never did. By this point the heavy bleeding had stopped anyway and was back to spotting so I wasn’t as concerned.
The spotting then also stopped on Saturday. So there’s been nothing for the past few days but then this morning it’s spotting again!
Has anyone else experienced this?
I know its normal to bleed for almost a month or maybe longer after a laparoscopy but is it normal for it to be intermittent?

It is quite normal, it takes a good couple of months for things to settle for me after surgery, and sometimes longer! Keep an eye on it though, make sure you’re not loosing too much blood.
Do you have a follow up appointment with your consultant? Xx
Hellooo! Aah okay I had no idea it would be intermittent, I assumed once it stopped that would be it.
I saw a different consultant for my initial consultation and a different consultant for the laparoscopy itself . Don’t feel like I been provided with enough information by either of them. I don’t have a follow up appointment with the consultant yet, but I was told I’d receive a date with the 6-8 weeks from the date of surgery and I again I am unsure which one I will be seeing - might be someone different altogether!
I was also taking microgynon prior to the surgery and haven’t had a response as to whether I should still be taking that or not either Xx
Were you given a number or email that you could contact if you needed to? It’s usually for a specialist nurse, they might be able to give you a bit of guidance xx
