Normal? Severe ovarian pain 9 days after laparoscopic surgery.

Hi guys, I had my first laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis 9days ago. I was doing pretty well a bit sore but good. Last night and so far today my ovaries are really hurting/cramping. Is that normal? My post-op appointment isn't for 8days should I try to get in sooner or is it probably okay? I'm worried about it. I know I'm probably being paranoid but it's my first real surgery. Thank you for reading this any advice or info would really be appreciated. 😊

How bad is the pain? Have you been sick? Feel like you’ve got a temp? I had severe pain right side and ended up in a&e and then admitted to hospital for IV antibiotics. Bloods showed I had infection and CT scan showed there were 2 areas of old blood in my pelvis. This was almost 3 weeks post op.

It’s normal to have pain but if the pain is getting worse you must get it checked. I waited until the pain was unbearable, which I wish I didn’t.x

Thanks for responding laura_T. I haven't been sick and I don't think I have a fever. But the pain is a 7 out of 10. It's not getting worse but it's not going away. But it's only been hurting for about 14hours. I don't know what to do? Wait and see if it improves? Call my doctor's office and try to get an appointment sooner? Or should I get myself to an emergency room? I don't think it's bad enough for the ER but what do I know? I don't want to overreacte but nor do I want to under reacte. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions on what you'd do?

You will know if you can’t take the pain anymore, like I did. I waited 2 days where it was grumbling but then 4 hours of the worst pain and I wish I didn’t. Painkillers did not touch this pain, heat, nothing. You are 9 days post op so should be feeling better not worse. My pain was 10++

If I were you I’d probably get some advice from medical professional. It’s better to be over cautious. If they tell you it’s normal then fair enough but what if it isn’t?x

Your right thank you 😊 I'm going to try calling my doctor and see if I can talk to him or at least one of his nurses. Hopefully they say it's nothing to worry about. Truly thank you for taking the time to help me with this.

Called and got a nurse. She said it's probably nothing. Might be starting my period. But to watch it if it gets worse or doesn't go away in a day or so or if I start bleeding heavily to call back. I asked how long after the surgery should I still be bleeding and she just said it varies. How long after yours were you bleeding?

Could possibly be the start of period, but mine wasn’t overly painful. It was 2 days after the lap though. I only bleed for 3 days. My consultant thinks the old blood I have in my pelvis is either blood from after the surgery where they took the drain out too soon or when I had my period some of it went back up inside my pelvis.

If you feel at ease with her answer then great but if you feel that it’s a different pain and not settling get further advice x

Thanks I'm going to sleep on it tonight and if it's still bad come morning I'll call again. If she's still saying the same thing I'll go to a insta care or ER. Thanks for the advice and responding to my post. I really appreciate it.😀
