period pain but no period… has anyone experienced this before?

TMI warning!

today and yesterday i have been having sudden flares of period pain, even though i take the pill and haven’t had an actual period in a very long time. the pain is absolutely unbearable when it comes and it’s making me feel really sick. it’s making me have to run to the loo, i always think i’m going to have diarrhoea but i don’t. my stools have a lot of bright orange mucus in them though.

i am struggling to tell whether this is a gynae problem or not. the pain is very similar to my actual period pain other than this is not constant, it just flares for about 10 mins and settles down.

i just had a minor procedure on my spine in hospital on monday and so i’m really hoping that i haven’t picked up some type of virus.

i’m just wondering if anyone has experienced this before.

Get back intouch with the hospital they will be able to help or point you in the right direction but you do need advice or help as thing will be mostly closed over Easter. Best of luck x

I have bowel endometriosis and these symptoms sound similar to when I am about to come on my period as everything becomes really inflamed. It really effects my bowel a few days before and then the first couple of days whilst bleeding. Although I also get blood in the mucus too. It may have something to do with the procedure that you’ve had done so I would definitely call the GP or hospital to ask about it. The hospital might be better as gp surgeries are all closed until Tuesday. I hope the pain settles down. Maybe take some paracetamol or another painkiller to help you through until you get some answers xxx
