It’s been a while since I’ve asked a question but right now I feel incredibly lonely.
Has anyone else experienced spotting caused by the smallest things? 2 weeks ago I coughed which led to spotting and a full on period, and today I strained when going for a no2 and that’s caused spotting.
When I spoke to the dr 2 weeks ago they fobbed me off saying it was down to hormone changes caused by covid but now I’m worried it could be something else.
Any advice or shared experiences will be greatly appreciated x

Hi A1987, I've experienced similar to this, and in my case it was connected to returning endo. It also happened when I tried to take three packs of pill back to back before a break, where the slightest thing would make me bleed during the third pack. I would suggest you keep a diary of your symptoms and go back to your gp, asking firmly for a referral if they try and ignore you. I imagine most people wouldn't consider bleeding from coughing, or going to the toilet as ok. Keeping a record of the cause, duration and type of bleeding (bright red "new" blood, or darker "old" blood, any clots etc.) could help determine what the cause is. Sounds like a really challenging time, and it's so disappointing your gp was dismissive. Can you request to see another doc at the surgery, especially one that specialises in womens health? I wouldn't be afraid to say you felt really unhappy and not listened to by the last person you saw.
Thank you so much for your response and advice. I will definitely keep a diary going forwards. It’s so frustrating speaking to the dr because they always make me feel like my symptoms aren’t real and I’m exaggerating.
I wouldn’t at all discourage you from pursuing this with your GP practice, but there does seem some evidence that Covid affects menstrual cycles. Best to be on the safe side though.
