I have been referred to Dr Baxter by my surgeon at Doncaster after two failed attempts at removing endo. After the second Laponinwas told both my tubes were blocked and I could not conceive
I have since had an MRI scan found out that I have a cyst in my right ovary and that is blocking my right tube which is now inflamed! But both my tube and ovary on the left side are functioning
I just wondered how long it took you to get to an appointment with Sheffield / BSGE? As I’ve been waiting for 2 months now and heard nothing at all from Sheffield hospital! I need to have surgery again by Dr Baxter to remove the cyst and endo but I’ve been told it can be up to 12 months
Thanks in advance

I may have misread your post, if you still need a basic appointment with the consultant call the department, they can tell you if the referral has been received.
If it is surgery call the operator they can put you through to the correct admissions person, or PALS can give you the number.
It’s worth checking either and gives you a little peace of mind which is invaluable in all this. It gives hope and boy do we cling to that at times
You are not wrong! I’ve had so many mess ups with this - I had my initial surgery in 2019. I didn’t feel any different - felt I was going out my mind still struggling. I finally found out in 2021 that they didn’t treat me in my surgery. But COVID got in the way and communication was lost … apparently.
So with you on that 😂 honestly so frustrating at times it’s insane.Even with some treatment at first lap, referral for further, then covid and so much chasing.
First Gynae told me he doesn’t see the point in operating with out treating. Do you know why they didn’t treat?
Apparently some of the endo was so close to my uretha that Dr Ying didn’t feel that she could do it safely. Which fine, but don’t wait 2 years to tell me. Then I had surgery again last year in August with Dr Al-dujaily who is amazing - but there’s still endometriosis there and now a cyst in my right ovary.
🙄 what are they like, that’s playing God and not being honest. I’m surprised Dr Al didn’t have a urologist involved, or did he remove it. Keep pushing, you know your body. They need to generally have more respect for how you/we feel and actually listen.
Hi, my gynaecology referral from GP took about 3 months to Sheffield Jessop ( for fibroids) and I’m on the list for hysterectomy which I’m told is 6-8 month wait. I did ring appointment line, rather than just waiting too. I’m with Dr Abdullah, but a friend was under Dr Baxter and rated him. Good luck.
