Hi, I’m booked in for a hysterectomy next month. Over the past 18 months I’ve had 2 laparoscopies due to cysts, and I also had one ovary removed. As much as I know the hysterectomy won’t cure my endometriosis, especially as it has also spread to my bowel, but it’s the next option available to me to try and relieve some of my pain and try and get some normality back in my life. I’m petrified to be honest, and just wondered if anyone can give me some advice pre and post op for those that have gone through this. Thank you!

Hysterectomy
Im scared. My gynecology told me about hysterectomy too. I didn't get any other treatment that's why I asked him to give me time to think about it. I'm able to manage the symptoms by diet but the cyst in my right ovary is growing. My endometriosis is mostly on the right side of my uterus.
Hi, just to say I'm having my hysterectomy next month too. Very nervous but I can't go on like I am. I don't really know what to expect regarding the menopause.
Hi Im 3 weeks post op for hysterctomy. Ive been feeling fine and no pain thankfully. It was laperoscopy which was good. Had everything removed bar ovaries. They dont get removed unless endo or anything else on them. U will all feel very tired from surgery that day but try eat some toast with cuppa as u have lot of gas. Also physio may come round your 2nd day to discuss toilet going and walking plus pelvic floor etc. Just listen to your own bodies, no heavy lifting, housework etc. Your only allowed lift a cup. Also if u need sneeze/cough hold pillow to your abdomine it helps alot. When getting out of bed roll onto your side, and push yourself up by elbow or if have bedside unit hold on to that. Good luck ladies x
