Periods after prostap

Hi

I started my latest round of prostap in June 2020 and had my last injection in June 2021. I was on 3 monthly injections and stopped because it was no longer working. Since then my periods haven’t returned although I’m getting stomach cramps and other signs each month my period never shows up.

If any of you have been on prostap before can you tell me how long yours took to return.

Hi Natalie,I had monthly injections last year, which I also stopped in June, I had a period in October, and the next one was last month. Before Prostrap they were every three weeks, so definitely not back to normal for me yet! Someone else on here said nine months, and someone else was over a year. So try not to worry too much, it seems everyone has a different experience x

Hey Natalie,

I had my last injection in November, no period for me either. I did get cramps when my periods were normally due but no bleeding. I carry pads with me everyday, as I was told to expect heavy bleeding once it returns. Not missing my horrible periods though 🙄 xx

Hello, last time I stopped prostap, it took 14 weeks to start bleeding and it was like a tap that would not stop, I bled for months and months and in the end I had to restart prostap again. I was bleeding heavily and prolonged before starting prostap initially and no other methods I tried worked.

Hi Natalie

I was in monthly prostap injections for 12 months (6 months longer than recommended I discovered). 3 days after stopping my pain and periods came back. I was gutted and would have given anything for it to have given me a bit of time to come back properly. Seems to affect people differently and for me this is the only treatment that has ever stopped my periods for any length of time.
