Hi, i hope you are well today. From having a hysterectomy myself i would advise you to take in some peppermint capsules. They really do help with bloating and trapped wind π³. I also took some snacks and a book to pass time. Saying that I watched Netflix a lot lol. Comfy knickers is a must!! Make sure you do nothing but rest when you're home. Good luck with your operation. ππ
Great that you can finally get your surgery. I've had 2 laps, the last one being hysterectomy + ovaries removed. Bring a small pillow for the car ride home, I found it helped to have a buffer between the seatbelt. I also carried the little pillow around to brace my tummy when I walked, coughed, sneezed, etc. for the first few weeks, my new best friend. I'd also recommend taking it really easy on the food for the first few days and take stool softener for that first post surgery BM. Take short walks around the house, get things moving even a little each day to help with gas pains, etc. The anticipation is the hardest part. You'll do great. Best of luck with your surgery! xx
I was able to drive 2 weeks after surgery. It was harder to get in/out of bed right after surgery than it was to drive. Try to find some videos for how to get out of bed post surgery wo using abs so much. But riding over the bumps in the road/railroad tracks- I was happy to have my little pillow for a few weeks! I don't work,/stay home w my kids so that wasn't an issue for me. Take it easy and take the time you need to heal. Even if you feel great, you're still healing so don't do Too much too soon. I think I was clear for "all activities" 6-8 weeks after. xx
