Is it usual for period bleeding to continue past the normal 7 days please?

Newbie here, aged 44.

Finally diagnosed with stage 3-4, ovaries completely enclosed, uterus covered, a part attached to my bowel. It was suspected about 10 years ago but the doctor said carry in as normal. Been taking ovranette for plus 20 years. I take 3 packs then break. Last period I spotted for a full month before it stopped. This time normal period should have stopped a week ago but still bleeding. I am waiting for a total hysterectomy but no idea when that will be with covid, they told me at least 6 months, probably add a couple of years to that.

Thanks
