Hi warriors, I hope you are all having a good day, my question is, has anyone had a total hysterectomy with ovaries removed, then had another laparoscopy to find more endometriosis?

Any advice and stories much appreciated 😊

Big hug x

Hi Bighug,

Thanks for reaching out. I’m one of the health unlocked moderators for Endo UK. Although a hysterectomy removes the organs if there is Endo out with that and they don’t remove those areas during the surgery, there is a risk there are some other sites of Endo. Are they planning on treating any Endo they might find or is an investigative lap? It’s not something I have personally experienced but I know a lot of other warriors who have, I wish you all the best of luck and we’re here for support should you need us.

Hi, thank you for replying, I have read that that could be the case, I just wondered if there were anyone who had ever experienced this. I’m hoping they will remove any if they find some endo, it’s been 2 years since my surgery and unfortunately I was experiencing pelvic pain again. Fingers crossed this will be my last surgery 🤞🏻And thanks again for your reply 🙏🏻 Take care, and happy new year x

HiI'm 4months total hysterectomy including ovaries where I was diagnosed with stage 4 endo. Large endometrioma on ovary, endo on bowel, ureters and deep in the pelvis.

Having an MRI on Tuesday as my gp and endo specialist think the endo may of infiltrated my bowel.

Hy I have after hysterectomy at 36 in 2002 I had a laparoscopy in 2014 which was a significant endoscopic adhesiolysis whatever that is and now I am desperate for another one as I feel like the beast is on my bowels and pelvic floor so yep you are not alone with this x

Hi, thanks for replying, and I’m sorry to hear you think the beast is back, I would definitely get your gp to refer you back to a endo specialist, reading other blogs, this disease doesn’t let up, even after everything is removed, it only has to find somewhere else in your body to latch on and cause pain, it can be like finding a needle in a haystack!! Wishing you luck, let me know how things go.Big hug 🤗 x
