Period after stopping prostap

Fortyoneandcounting profile image

Just looking for some advice/experiences. I stopped my prostap injections in October, I could not handle the bone pain. My pmdd and most of my endo symptoms went away whilst on the injection. My period came back on Monday, lighter than usual but more brown and thick (tmi, sorry!). I have had less cramping but painful shooting pains in my thighs and buttocks. The two weeks prior to coming back my mood has been terrible (I have been diagnosed with pmdd) to the point were I was spending full days in bed(I have never done that previously). However, I had also been poorly with a virus(not COVID) a couple of weeks ago and thought I was just feeling under par. Anyway, today my period has eased off and almost stopped, however, I have a terrible migraine type headache and feel lightheaded. I just wondered if anyone experienced this sort of thing or I am wondering if I am still unwell with a virus type illness, can anyone help! I feel so depressed right now like I am always poorly and I can’t cope anymore.

It sounds like you're having a really tough time of it - we were really concerned to hear that you're struggling to cope and that you're feeling depressed about all your symptoms. We understand that living with a long term health condition can really affect people's wellbeing but there is support out there for you.

You might not already be aware but as well as the forum, we run our Helpline and face-to-face support groups. To find out how to access these, please take a look at endometriosis-uk.org/get-su...

It may also be worth contacting your GP to explain how low you have been feeling.
