Confused about progesterone and estrogen

Still learning with all this endo stuff but does estrogen make it worse? I have the nexplanon inplant which is progesterone only but it seems I still ovulate which is when my pain is at its worsteeee my GP sugested combined pill as did gyne but dont they have estorgen!???

I dnt know what to do for the best to help control symptoms while Im waiting probably a year yet before lap 😪

Hiya - There is definitely concern that oestrogen can “feed” endo, but it’s my understanding that the amount of oestrogen in the combined pill is not enough to cause a problem in that respect. Many ladies have had a lot of relief from using them (but as always it’s completely individual and down to trial & error to see what suits you best).Deep/severe endo creates its own oestrogen, which I guess is how it manages to keep on growing/spreading.

There would be a problem if you were given oestrogen-only hrt after a chemically or surgically induced menopause as treatment for endo, as it would be a relatively high dose & would encourage re growth of any endo not found/removed.

That’s my best (completely non-expert) understanding of it all, anyway. Hopefully others can confirm. Xxx

Ah thanks for your reply makes sense x I will speak to GP after xmas about trying something else if my next cycle is still same its like Im still ovulationing x
