Has anyone tried a Weighted Blanket?

Hi ladies

Looking at getting a weighted blanket, as it apparently reduces anxiety and helps you sleep better.

Just want opinions, suggestions and recommendations, just feedback about it.

Thank you! 💛

I've had mixed feeling about this to be honest. Sometimes, I find it soothing and comforting. Other times, especially when I'm in some bad endo pain I've found it uncomfortable and oppressive. Might be worth bearing in mind that being in bad endo pain puts me in a foul mood anyway so my opinions in such a state are bound to be negative.

I realise this isn't particularly helpful but it's all I got... 😊

I appreciate the feedback. I too get severe pain. Some nights struggle with the contraction pain, that's when I get irrated, and find somethings unbearable.

It's good to hear other people's opinion on it.

Thank you again 💛

No probs. Have trouble sleeping with pain myself. The irony is my pain meds give me crippling insomnia. As in, I don't sleep at all. Be in pain and snatch some sleep here and there, or be in less pain and get no sleep at all. Some choice.

Oh bless you...I know the feeling.I sometimes take morphine when in horrendous crippling pain. But then sometimes that gives me panic attacks at night, or I get knocked out by it.

I'm on Amitriptyline, and the morphine sometimes don't work.

It's sort of a catch 22 situation sometimes.

I have a Gravity weighted blanket and it cost £150 and I paid in 3 instalments. Got free CBD with it.

I wouldn’t be without it and it helps me relax when I have a flare and calms me right down. It’s an experience I really love 💕 and Crave and my go to when I feel like crap x

Thank you for replying. Ok, sorry a thick question alert, but the gravity blanket is it similar or is it to do with the material?

And is from a particular company?

Gravity is the brand who make the blanket and think they invented them.

Essentially, like a beanbag has polystyrene balls inside. A weighted blanket has tiny glass beads inside. Good quality ones do anyway and the blanket is sewn into 5 inch squares to keep the glass beads in that square. So unlike a bean bag they don’t all bunch up together. Then some have a cover over them.

The weight of the blanket feels like a hug 🫂 and you have to see if you love that feeling. It slows you down as it’s heavy. It makes you sit still and connect with your body.

Google gravity weighted blanket x

Thank you for that!Gives me a bit more of an idea.

I found a few websites, so I'll do a bit more research and might give it a go.

Just looking at prices as well 🙂

Thank you, I have ordered one, just to see how it will work for me. 🙂

Mines not a super heavy one, I could do with a slightly heavier one as I think it’s a 5kg one (could be wrong) but it’s definitely worth the money!

I love mine. Home bargain sells them a lot cheaper. Is supposed to start off with 10% of your body weight as a starter and then work your way up.

Hi They are so pricey!

But ordered one, in the middle range price, online.

I don't get out much at the moment, due to the painful flare ups.

I would love to shop for one and see what it looks like, but sorted it online, which I'm not a big fan of.

See how it goes, but appreciate your feedback. 🙂

I've got to say, was skeptical, but I have had two nights of good sleep. Still exhausted in the morning, but I have I only got up twice, which is an improvement from getting up 4-5 times, and managing to get back to sleep, without waiting to get back to sleep! It has helped my anxiety which I get some nights when I cannot settle. However I still need to get use to it being there. But I do love it!

🙂
