Hi! I have suspected endometriosis of the bowel and I was wondering if anyone else with this has experienced very similar symptoms to ibs (alternating constipation/diarrhoea, bloating, general change in bowel habits etc.)
These symptoms of mine have been particularly worse lately and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to reduce them??
I have found Buscopan, which is a medication to help with cramping is useful, especially if I have diarrhoea. I have also just been prescribed Mebeverine which was also helpful.These are really for IBS but because there is quite a crossover in symptoms, could be worth talking to your GP about.
It’s s hard it get a balance in dealing with constipation if you are also prone to diarrhoea but a gentle laxative when you are constipated could help. I find constipation can be absolute agony, in fact I have ended up in A and E with it ( not realising it was ‘only’ constipation).
I’m waiting for colorectal op, had lots of issues, I take four Laxido helps to go and with pain. It does go runny, but better that way than stuck I’ve decided. I’ve tried the same as Cailleach, worth a try.
Do you have surgery lined up?
