Endo on the Bowel

Anyone got endo on the bowel? What does it feel like and what kind of bowel symptoms do you get? Since the specialist mentioned he thinks the issue might also be my bowel, I'm thinking the two may be connected (literally haha) and was wondering if this is whats going on. The pain is in my right side, a bit higher than the ovary but constant, pulling and a dull nagging ache. I know I should just wait til surgery but it's 3 weeks away and my brain is going crazy! x

I have the exact same thing. Pulling tearing pain on my bowel when I need to pass wind or stools . Its also on my bladder . Like a tearing stretching pain it has I think attached to my right lung as it's very painful sometimes to breathe in. Only pain on the right hand side. I saw a gynogeoist the other week and he said to start on oral contraceptives but I believe that this is gotten worse over the last few months I only went to the GP for this about June this year. I noticed my periods were extremely painful none like I've ever had before.

That this has been going on for years.

How long have you suffered? Hope your surgery goes okay x

I've had this pain for about 3 years, definitely getting worse but I've noticed the surrounding area gurgles and I always get trapped wind there which leads me to think it's a bowel issue, just really want answers and to not have endo after all this would be pretty crushing! And yeah, the pill hasn't done too much for me either,I've been recommended the Mirena after surgery but have my doubts. Hope you find something that eases your pain x

I had endo on my bowel but it was shaved off in 2008ish. I had a lap several months ago and my bowel is tethered into my pelvis so they're not sure if endo is there again but my I got all the same signs I had several years back which are, left side constant ache, feels like a balloon is being blown up, blood in stools when due on, on and for a week afterwards, hot poker up backside sensation, painful gas movements and painful bowel movements, really bad bloating and just randoms shooting pains through out my whole lower area.

Had it shaved from the outside of my bowel in March this year, while undergoing excision surgery. However, it still feels the same. Sharp stabbing pain on left side when needing the toilet, sometimes blood in stools and an urgency feeling. Other pain too but I don't think thatsbowel related. Though like Miss Lloyds reply I get a shortness of breath and a pain on my right side, surgeon thinks it may be my diaphragm. Wish you all well.

I had pain and outright fainting during bowel movements, bladder frequency, back pain and extreme chronic fatigue.

Hi....i have endo on the bowel... last time i had a laparoscopy in 2013 the surgeon told me I had a 4 cm mass ....it has caused issues with my bowel....its quite bizarre..i can suffer with movements and due to being on co codomol I do get quite constipated. I also have kidney issues ....i was suffering with retention and now have a stent which needs replacing every 6 months....it all kind of links in...but I have severe pain constantly on my left side....its awful...have a hysterectomy and a bowel resection operation later this month....and quite honestly i cannot wait.....i hope you feel better after surgery....

I had pain in the exact same place as you, for 18 months. I had surgery a year ago and they removed endo from my uterine ligament and pouch of Douglas. The pain stayed exactly the same so I sought a second opinion from a endo specialist [this post has been edited to comply with our code of conduct] he performed a second laparoscopy and found rectovaginal endometriosis and also near my bowel on left side. I am a month on from surgery and the pain has eased, but still nagging (which could be healing, but only time will tell)

After my first surgery, my gynaecologist told me nothing more could be done, but I pushed for a second opinion as my mother had a bowel resection due to endometriosis and I knew more could be done to help me.

My pain before surgery felt exactly like when I had an appendicitis, very severe pain on right, which left me unable to walk. I also had pain before a bowel movement most of the month, but worse on day 7, 14 and 28 of my cycle.

I hope your surgery is successful and you get some relief Xx

Yeah sound like it might be the case. Just recovering from surgery removed it from bowel. Had to have a bowel resection and now have a stoma while healing. Mine was the same pain but on the left and went from the hip up and around to lower back sometimes even hurt to lay on that side. It’s a crap place to have it!!! Xxx

How are you coping with the stoma bag? How does that work if you don't mind me asking x

Yeah used to it now. Took a while to come to terms with it but it’s hopefully only temporary. It’s just reroutes the small bowel into the bag so that the colon gets a break and heals xx

My Endo has abated since the menopause but I know exactly what you are going though. The Endo pain was low right hand side as if something was laying on my insides, very heavy periods accompanied with diarrhoea. It has been confirmed that I have Endo adhesions on the ascending colon which may or may not contribute to my attacks of diarrhoea. Do not worry all will be explained to you after your op and you will be able to plan how you manage it. Don't forget that Endometriosis UK will be able to help you, they helped me. Good Luck!
