Ive been experiencing pain under my lower left rib for years which would last for a few days each time but is now constant and getting stronger. My tummy visibly pulls in over this area when the pain is there. I have severe endometriosis but don’t know if this is linked. Has anyone else experienced this?

Morning my lovely. I'm sorry to hear that you're in pain. For many many years I've had pain underneath my ribs. It's like in the middle of my ribs but at the bottom of my ribs if that makes sense. I've always been told it's endometriosis causing the pain and I've been on omprezole for many years. Like you it's a constant pain which is worse when I try to eat something. I've found cutting out greasy, spicy and acidic foods help. I've not eaten any of these foods for a very long time. Peppermint tea helps and a hot water bottle and some strong painkillers but not anti inflammatory tablets as they can make the pain worse. O hope that helps you. 💛
I’m sorry you have it too. I have pain and pressure under my ribcage front and back but this pain on the left feels different. I have wondered if it’s stomach/bowel related but not sure
Hi Puffling, I am undergoing investigations currently but am suspected of having endo and adenomyosis. I have pain at my lower left rib and at times centrally. It's the same sharp, pulling pain I have at my left hip where I've been told (after a colonoscopy) that my bowel is stuck to my pelvis. I've assumed the pain at my rib is for the same reason. Thankfully I've been referred for a laporoscopy and am hoping this gets picked up then.
You may have endometriosis on your diaphragm. Rib and chest pain is common with severe endometriosis. Mine is all on the right. It's a really raw pain and can even be exhausting just to speak for a long time. Perhaps mention to your doctor or specialist.
Sorry to hear that you have this. It can be really unpleasant. xx
I have Zoladex ongoing now indefinitely. I've also had multiple surgeries but problems always come back. I had very extensive endometriosis and don't think it'll ever be completely resolved. You should ask for help with this, it's one of the many horrible symptoms of this cruel disease. XX
I don't know your situation or what treatment you've had but my advice is to make a fuss. I got fobbed off for many years. Good luck, it is very hard. I agree. xx
I've had extensive radical excision with a top endometriosis specialist, multiple times and even that has not been enough to stop some recurrence. I do hope you can get help with this. Bear in mind that scans often don't show up endometriosis. None of mine did. xx
I realise that but while trying to get a lap it’s better than nothing, are you on a special diet at all? Have you taken hrt? I’m even avoiding parabens in body creams etc xx
Yes I have found the low fodmap diet has helped me a lot. It's an exclusion diet for 2 to 3 weeks then you gradually reintroduce food groups. I know what I can and can't have and keep consumption of fodmaps low. It's the only diet that has ever helped me personally.I don't take HRT, too scared of it making my endometriosis worse.
I actually have lactose free dairy, need dairy for my bones. Wheat and gluten seem to worsen endometriosis symptoms for some people, me for one. Anyway, good luck with everything. xx
The pain and pressure under my ribs is definitely worse if I have a lot of gas but is still there to a lesser degree if I have no gas. Are there any particular signs that indicate endometriosis on diaphragm is a likely cause? How do you go about finding out?
It was excision surgery along with excision in various other places. The surgeon just had a look at my diaphragm in the operation. It was a specialist in endometriosis. You could try a search for symptoms of endometriosis on the diaphragm and see if you think it fits as it fitted with me exactly and all made sense. Also the chest pain definitely worsened in a cyclical way and still does although I am a lot better than when at my worst years ago before surgery.
I am not on HRT and too scared of it making my endometriosis any worse. xx
Im sorry you had to go through that but it’s really lovely to hear you had a positive outcome from surgery. All my symptoms are getting worse and over the last few months I’ve been gradually losing hope that it would be possible to have any kind of positive outcome so thank you
I've had rib pain for years and always been told it's Costachondritis, but now have it allthe way across and finally my GP is taking it seriously as possible diaphragmatic Endo after i read posts on here and am waiting for another ultrasound
It's always been in the middle, then after I came off the pill all the way across and down right hand side, have gone on prostap has eased quite a bit thankfully
