Hey you guys have probably seen me on this forum asking questions way too many times now 😂
Right so I’ve been getting pain in my ribs on and off, chest pain, shortness of breathe, shoulder, upper back and abdomen and joint pain. I heard this can mean endo on the diaphragm. I also have loads of bowel problems and the docs think my endo is growing on my bowel, possibly my sigmoid colon, for sure (which so do I tbh)
I just wanted to know, can you get these pains without the endo actually being on your diaphragm? Like rib pain chest pain shoulder pain??? Is this common with general endometriosis? Or is it very specific to diaphragmatic endo?
And same with the bowel, I have to go like 3 times a day with pain in my left side. Is it possible that the endo is only in my pelvic region but still causing digestive bowel and joint and rib pain? Its super confusing
Thanks in advance

I have rib, chest and heart pain. And I don't have any endo on my diaphragm. The Doctors think mine is only limited to my pelvic region and even then they suspect it is a mild case so I guess it is possible.
Endometriosis has an effect on the whole body so it wouldn't surprise me if you were getting other symptoms even though you may not have any endo there. I used to worry that I had it on my heart as I was getting palpitations but it turns out that it's 'normal' for endometriosis... Like there's anything normal about any of it 🙄
Anyway, enough of my rantings and I hope you find answers soon 💕
Same, I’ve got heart palpitations too. It’s horrible 😠but I guess the one good thing is that it isn’t on your diaphragm at least. The pain may still be there but at least your mind is at rest knowing it hasn’t spread hopefully. Have they done a laproscopy to check? Or how do they know it’s not there? Xx
It is! My surgeon has offered me one so I hope it will be done soon. I had a scan done on earlier this week and they checked my ovaries, fallopian tubes, bowel, bladder womb, urethra, ureters, kidneys and general stomach area and no deep/severe endo could be seen on the scan so I guess they're going off that xx
Ohh ok I’ve had ultrasound scans too but nothing can really be seen on scans anyway I’ve heard? Was it an MRI or ultrasound? Mine is mainly on the bowel, those symptoms are causing most of the pain me. Hope you get a laproscopy sorted soon x
I think it depends on how severe your endo is... As mine isn't severe it can't be seen and I'm therefore deemed a 'mild' case. It was an ultrasound. Thank you - I hope you find answers soon too xx
I asked the question of shortness of breath etc as I have this and pain in chest etc my doc said it’s to do with your pain threshold when your in a lot of pain you tend to loose your breath
And I was told palpitations are anxiety o found when I got more answers to my endo I was less anxious it sounds like you haven’t had much advice from a specialist a specialist can usually tell you if you have it growing on your bowl through an examination I have bowl problems and was told I have a growth behind my uterus
Yeah I haven’t had a laproscopy yet but need to have one soon so I know for sure. It’s not just the chest pain but the upper back and shoulder pain bothering me too. My symptoms are mainly to do with my bowel and I had a sigmoidoscopy in which I wasn’t given sedation or gas & air and felt a LOT of pain with it so they suspect the endo is growing on my sigmoid colon. Not had anything to confirm it yet and sometimes researching can worsen my anxiety but then I just end up continuously wondering.
I’ve just had a guided CT scan of my diaphragm due to all same symptoms as you. Apparently something ‘viral’ on the results and I’m being referred to the chest clinic. I’m pretty sure it’s related to my endo as the pain is worse around ovulation and my period. Just because they can’t see endo on a scan doesn’t mean it’s not there. I had an mri for my bladder which didn’t highlight any endo but it was found when they did surgery last year.
We are the experts of our bodies and ultimately they don’t know anything about endo to be certain! If it’s making you sick ask for a CT and referral.
