Hello, I have had endo symptoms for the last 5 years- and during which I have had 12 decidual casts- I have finally got a laparoscopy and two other surgery’s Saturday, but I don’t know if it’s worth it? I have been on the pill now for the last 8 months and the last 6 of these I have been fine and able to do exercise ect - it’s been brilliant! Are the surgeons able to see and treat endo if I’m on the pill? I haven’t been told to stop taking it?

If you are getting the surgery as part of a diagnosis, then I would say its worth knowing if you have endo. If you've already been diagnosed via laparoscopy (or MRI of its severe enough and in visible places) then I would personally wait on surgery. Having endo means you will need multiple surgeries throughout your life, and every surgery in the same area will be more difficult and more difficult to recover from. Generally, the goal is to minimise the number of surgeries you'll need to have in your life and use medications to mitigate everything in the meantime. If you have a medication that works, that's great!
BUT - if you haven't been diagnosed through testing (usually laparoscopy), then it's worth knowing whether it actually is endo or if your symptoms are something else.
