Lovely to be here. I’m feeling very alone right now. Newly diagnosed and struggling with post lap exhaustion and overwhelm on steps moving forward ( it was 9 days ago) anyone else experience this? Would really appreciate any advice. Love to all reading this xxx

Thanks so much for your reply ..That’s v kind .. tbh I’m starting to worry about why I’m feeling so rough 9 days after when they’ve removed the endo if that’s makes sense! I just bought a book called eating for endo does not have to suck so your name made me smile - very much captures how I’m feeling right now!! 😂 how are you doing symptom wise atm? xxx
It takes your body a long time to heal internally! Just think, yes the endo’s gone but it’s been cut out and that is a painful healing process in itself. It may take a few months to feel the benefits. Please give yourself lots of permission to rest. Getting better is a marathon not a sprint. xx
Hi am ok got a funny ache in my left calf not sure whether I need to get it checked have you experience any aches and pains? Hope you’re having a good day xxx
I know just how you feel! Wishing you a speedy recovery 🤞🏻🙂
The more rest you get the better you’ll feel but even then I think the best thing to do is listen to your body, if you’re still tired a few weeks later, that’s okay, don’t worry too much about it - I’ve found (the hard way) it can take ages to get over it, depending on how much you had done in your op.
I’m currently recovering from my 3rd lap and am 7 weeks post op and although I have a bit more energy, I still feel like I can’t get up some days xx
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply!! Very reassuring to hear this though sorry you’re still feeling like that some days. I’m very new to all this so amazing to connect with endo ladies who’ve got more experience! Sending you lots of love xxx do you follow any particular diets?
Yeah unfortunately it’s been on and off for me, but I think it’s different for everyone (from what I’ve read) so hopefully you may not get it, once you’re feeling better 🤞🏻🙂
I’ve only just started networking recently and it’s so helpful talking to others! If it helps you too, I found insta pages really helpful, they had lots of information and advice on different things! I don’t follow any specific diets but I have been in operating things I’ve read that are helpful and cut down on things that I know make it worse. Like raspberry leaf tea and turmeric in milk, are supposed to be really good and I been drinking it a lot more and I noticed it does help! It’s worth a shot 🙂 xxx
Oh yes!!! I had mine nearly 5 weeks ago and for about 2.5-3 weeks I couldn't keep my eyes open and I was in bed ever night at 8. If I fancied getting out (and by out I mean a ten minute trip to sains) I'd need a nap when I got home. I got lingering tiredness after that as well. Don't worry it will pass. Just enjoy the early nights 😂
Ah thanks so much fir your message! That is very reassuring to know - I’m 10 days post lap so hopefully the tiredness will improve! How are you feeling now? Sending hugs x
I completely get how you’re feeling. I had my lap almost 8 weeks ago and I’m still struggling with the tiredness! I had the mindset that after 2 weeks I would have bounced back to normal, I was very wrong! Everyone’s body is different and it’s hard to have the patience to listen to your body just to rest.
Try to take things easy and rest as much as possible even if that means taking a nap or lying on the sofa if you’ve done anything that day. Plenty of early nights! I made a conscious effort to eat plenty more veg and take my daily vitamins too.
I hope you feel better soon and have the opportunity to rest up for aslong as you need too xx
Yes totally feel you on the patience thing!! I’m a bit frustrated! Great reminder re diet thank you!! I’m really trying to get lots of nutrients in including protein shakes.. how are you feeling today? Hope you’ve had a good day xxx
Managed a good dog walk today without a nap, I’m taking that as a win! Hope you get some relief over the weekend. Take care of yourself and rest up, your recovery is the most important thing. I don’t know about you but processing the diagnosis can be exhausting too, never mind the physical recovery! xx
It's lovely to see that so many of our forum users have reached out to you already. Everyone's experience and recovery times after a laparoscopy are different so, just to reiterate the sentiments here, please take your time to relax and to let your body recover.
Just take it one day at a time and if you are struggling with overwhelm then it may be worth checking out some of the complementary therapies on our Endometriosis Treatment Information Pack to reduce stress levels, which can be found at endometriosis-uk.org/endome...
Hopefully you'll find something that works for you.
Wow so lovely ahd helpful to receive your message - thank you! I will certainly check out your list. Feel very blessed to able to access this group hope you’re having a good day? xx
