I have my first appointment my a consultant gynaecologist tomorrow, not too sure what to expect? My GP was unsure whether my symptoms could be linked to endo or not so she referred me on the off chance.
Does anyone know what I should expect? Will there be any physical investigations etc.? I've already had internal/external ultrasounds so assuming they won't do those again.. but wasn't too sure what else could happen or what will be asked?

Wishing you all the best with your appointment. We have a really handy document on our website, which outlines what to expect from your first appointment and how to talk to your doctor about your symptoms.
Ah thank you, this is so lovely of you! If I'm honest I'm not too sure. My GP sent the referral as suspected endo, even though I don't really have the main symptoms. The appointment with the gynae was only 5-10mins and it felt like she wan't really listening, kept cutting me off when I was talking about my symptoms. It felt like she wasn't considering anything else except endo but even admitted herself I don't have the typical symptoms. She really tried to push for me to go on some kind of contraception/hormonal treatment, which I know is standard practice for endo, but it's really something I'm not comfortable doing. She said all I can do is go on the waiting list for the lap, which to me also feels a bit drastic when they are so unsure of my symptoms. She said it's unlikely they'll find anything, so I asked if that is the case what could my symptoms be related to and she basically said that the pain was just random and there wouldn't be anything they could do...
So I've gone on the waiting list for the lap, which I feel terrible about when there's so many people who desperately need it, but I just have no idea what else to do. Even when I asked about diet changes that could help or things that could help with the fatigue she said the only thing which will help is some kind of contraception, nothing else. So sorry for the rant, just feel so lost!
