Diagnosis time

Hi guys, I’ve been in touch with my local hospital, they said I was moved to level priority 3 for my laparoscopy, I asked what this meant, they said normally it means a 3 month wait time which would be great but because of covid this has gone out the window and now means nothing. I feel so upset and disheartened, I have been trying to get a diagnosis for coming on 10 years now and I finally got onto a waiting list in January. Has anyone been through/looked at private/insurance for surgery and if so any advice on how it works and how much it costs?? Feeling so upset that I’m no closer to my surgery and having to live with the awful pain every day 😢

I've just had my second lap privately and I barely waited any time at all! So far, it's cost around £5,000 for all the consultations and the op, but worth it

Did you use health insurance at all or do it all privately?

HiI believe unless you all Ready had private insurance in place you will have to go privately,

I’m was put on the surgery waiting list jan 2020. In july I decided to go private , I waited 6 weeks to see my chosen consultant, I have surgery in a week that’s been brought forward from November, even private there seems to be a little wait, it will be cost me around £5k by the time I’m sorted, it was either that or wait until summer 2022 on the NHS. There are severe delays in some areas.
